It's not very often that I can say I'm caught up on editing images. I found myself in just that position one day last week with about an hour before the kids came home from school. I used the time to bake a special after school treat (i.e. I needed a sugar fix). It might have even been less than 24 hours after I wondered out loud on FACEBOOK how hard it would be to kick my sugar addiction. Almost a year ago I picked up a mini donut pan from HOBBY LOBBY and it's been stored away ever since.  When I found THIS recipe, I knew I had the perfect pan to try it out.  Truthfully, it took me three batches to get the donuts to turn out like this. I put the dough in a Ziploc bag, snipped off a corner and piped the dough in the molds.  It realy does only take a thin layer of batter in each donut mold to make the perfect donut.  When you use too much dough, they puff up and the hole closes.  The finished product tasted more like little chocolate cakes than donuts but they were a hit with the kids (and me).
