The best Mother's Day gift I've ever received wasn't in the form of diamonds. It wasn't a manicure, pedicure or massage. It wasn't a homemade dinner or someone to clean my house (though those would have ranked a close second and third to the best gifts ever). It didn't even cost $10. The best Mother's Day gift I've ever received was this: Unbeknownst to their dad or me, our kids went to the nursery on the corner all by themselves, picked out a clay pot and the perfect plant and paid for them with their own money. They coordinated with their dad to make sure I was out of the house for awhile. They worked together to paint the pot just for me. The gift was better than any store-bought card or fattening candy. I love it!
