My work area was a mess cluttered with "To Do" lists, half done projects, things that needed to be filed, pictures I loved but hadn't taken the time to hang and projects I wanted to start but couldn't until other things were finished.  My creative juices were stifled from all that was whirling around me.  I was craving calmness and order but had no time to achieve it.  The walls felt like they were closing in and I was spinning my wheels but hardly getting anywhere.  That's when I knew it was time to STOP and smell the flowers that were growing in my own backyard.

I worked until I got myself to a point where I was caught up on the necessities and then did something I don't do near often enough.  I took two weeks off and completely de-cluttered my life.  The garage is now clean.  The kitchen cabinets are organized.  The ceiling fans are dusted.  The stacks of owners manuals that have collected over the years are now cataloged and filed.  My hundreds of recipes are compiled in one location perfectly sorted.  My basement is de-cluttered like it's never been in the 16 years we've lived here.  My work space is free of anything unnecessary and surrounded by things I love - including weekly flowers from my garden.  Every square inch of my home has been cleaned and organized and it feels AMAZING.

I feel fresh, renewed and ready to take on the summer with renewed energy.  I'm excited to jump back into work without the weight of "all the other stuff I need to do" on my shoulders.  And that's a good thing because July is going to be cah-ray-zee here at Christy B.  Lots of photo sessions coming up and celebrating 8 years of Christy B Photography with the launch of a brand new addition to the Christy B brand.  I'm so excited but I'm going to make sure I continue take time to smell the flowers as I go along.  Join me, won't you?  You won't regret it.
